New paid Gemini API projects now store Generate Content requests by default. You turned on a project; congratulations, the paperwork has turned itself on too. Google’s October 26 change covers ordinary, streaming and batch generation. Existing projects keep their current settings. To opt out, set store=false on a request or disable Generate Content logging in the Logs and Datasets dashboard’s Settings. This notice concerns request storage, not a newly announced training policy. The useful feature here is a default you need to know about before you rely on the opposite one. Your onboarding checklist just acquired a new checkbox. Naturally, it arrived already ticked.
