Hugging Face’s Papers with Code recreation now has Apache-2.0 code, letting developers inspect and adapt the software behind its research catalogue and leaderboards. Niels Rogge announced the release on October 26; the repository confirms the licence. You know the routine: fascinating paper, impressive chart, code link leading into the archaeological record. This project brings papers, repositories, datasets and benchmark results into one interface, and now the interface’s own code is available too. That licence covers the software, not blanket rights to every paper or dataset it indexes. Nor does an open leaderboard make every submitted claim correct. Still, a website called Papers with Code has supplied the website’s code. The naming committee can finally unclench.
