Google takes the writing lead with Gemini 4 Argon

Google has taken the writing lead. For now.

Gemini 4 Argon tops Arena’s text rankings at 1,525, ahead of Claude Opus 4.6 at 1,505. It also leads creative writing, though the scores are preliminary and uncertainty ranges overlap.

Google gives Argon a one-million-token output limit, up from 64,000. Plenty of room to write. Quality across a whole novel is another question.
