Google’s Gemini 4 Argon Arrives With a Waiting Room

Google has announced Gemini 4 Argon. Before you rush to the model picker, there is a queue.

The company is initially giving access to selected cybersecurity defenders through its Fairwind programme. Wider access for developers, businesses and consumers comes later, after more testing and work on safeguards.

Google pitches Argon for demanding coding, research and security work, with room for much longer outputs. Those capabilities are Google's claims; the restricted rollout limits what ordinary users can test themselves.

The frontier race now has two leaderboards: how capable the model is, and who can actually use it. A launch announcement does not erase the second.
