Supabase Buys Into the Agent Database Boom With Turso

The AI agents are building apps. Someone still has to store the mess.

Supabase says it is acquiring Turso, bringing the SQLite specialist into its push for infrastructure that can create tiny databases on demand. The company says it already launches more than a million databases a week.

Its plan keeps Postgres at the centre of Supabase while Turso continues working on SQLite. The idea is cheap, lightweight databases for experiments, with a route towards larger production systems.

That is a more practical AI bet than another chatbot personality: sell the storage every prototype needs, including the ones nobody opens twice.
